Special Health Care Needs

Providing comprehensive preventive and therapeutic dental care to patients with special health care needs is a vital part of our practice in pediatric dentistry. We understand and appreciate the unique qualities of each child’s smile, and we are dedicated to ensuring that every patient receives the best possible care, regardless of developmental disabilities or other health challenges.

The American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry defines special health care needs as “any physical, developmental, mental, sensory, behavioral, cognitive, or emotional impairment or limiting condition that requires medical management, healthcare intervention, and/or use of specialized services or programs.” Whether your child’s condition is congenital, developmental, or the result of disease or trauma, we are here to provide guidance and support for their specific dental care needs.

All of our pediatric dentists have extensive experience in treating patients with special health care needs, and we are proud to teach other dental professionals how to care for this unique population. This expertise allows us to offer specialized care that goes beyond routine treatment, ensuring that we adapt and accommodate the individual requirements of every child.

Our goal is to establish a dental home for your child, where they can receive safe, compassionate, and personalized care while working together to achieve optimal dental health.
